Samsung unveils its two latest galaxy smartphones - The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Samsung has focused on Design, Performance, and Enterprise.

Metal frame filling the middle that has rounded edges and gemstone finishing as sandwiched by two thin built-to-last Gorilla Glass 4 and that makes these smartphones easy to hold as well as captivating to see, an improvement from its all plastic past.
The new Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge will offer "awesome" display at 5.1 inches Super AMOLED QuadHD (2560 x 1440 p) that translate to 577 ppi for more clear, vivid and detailed viewing pleasures.
The Galaxy S6 Edge sets its apart from its S6 sibling, being the first smartphone with dual curved display. The "Edge" will provide a new unique way of notification as it glows when you get call messages from your favorite contacts.
Powering the devices is Samsung own Exynos 7420 Octa-Core Processor with Mali-T760 GPU. Heating issue plague Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 and so guess they did'nt want to take the risk. This Exynos processor is 64bit based on 14mn process which Samsung claims to be powerful yet more energy efficient. It is similar with Snapdragon 810 as it also utilize 4 Cortex-A57 cores at 2.1GHz and 4 Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.5GHz. For Memory, it makes use of LPDDR4 at 3GB RAM and Universal Flash Storage is employed for storage, a combination of SSD and EMMC for faster performance and reads with options of 32GB / 64GB / 128GB. With the new design of Galaxy S6 however storage expandability has been sacrificed.
Samsung is boasting the new camera with f1.9 aperture size that captures more light that improves low-light outputs for the primary 16MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. OIS is still present along with other nifty tricks Object Tracking AutoFocus, "Real Time HDR", and 4K Video Recording.
Complete range of connectivity - LTE Cat. 6, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS, and IR blaster for both smartphones. Fingerprint has been improved with one touch feature rather than swipe. Heart rate doubles up as sensor for white balance. As for battery, a 2550mAh for Galaxy S6 and 2600mAh for the Galaxy S6 Edge. Built-in Wireless charging that supports most of industry hardware Qi and PMA for fast and cable-free well charging without additional case, or hardware needed.
A new, intuitive and cleaner TouchWiz UI to top of Android Lollipop. Samsung also introduces it new Samsung Pay to counter Apple Pay for mobile payments. Samsung Knox to provide security for business and enterprise.
The Galaxy S6 will be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, and Blue Topaz. While for Galaxy S6 Edge comes in same colors except for Blue Topaz but with Green Emerald option. Said to come in April in selected markets and more on May
Had a brief encounter with both flagship as Model Units were available at Digital Plaza at Gateway Cubao.
Samsung has really stepped up in construction as compared to previous plastic flagships. It is now top grade status but I am haunted by its similarities to iPhone 6 aesthetics. Handling was no problem as it is light and the curves really is great for grip though the back if fingerprint magnet. I also notice that the capacitive buttons cannot be seen nor does not light up so might guess if where the back and menu button for first time users.
Handling the Galaxy S6 Edge gave a lasting impression with dual curved glass that makes the screen seems endless and making it feel slim and thin. Lying flat you could see colors stream out and change when you get a notification from your favorite contacts. In terms of design, S6 Edge stands out.
Got to test the camera, both takes fast and produces great outputs. Though was not able to bluetooth the output as the Guard standing by is telling me that N Photo Op allowed. hahaha There was no lag when running and multitasking between apps so I guess the Exynos is quite capable.
Overall, Samsung really made things better for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Gone are their days of plastic construction and finally made something wonderful to look at and hold. To top that they also thought of performance with their own Exynos chip and pushed further improvement in optics. So geeks want one? Pre-Order has begun!
