MyPhone my32 set to be sold on December 3, 2015!

We got a chance to play around with a review unit. It is made of plastic construction with round sides and corners. It is very light and handy though the back pretty much attracts fingerprints and smudges. Capacitive keys are just painted on and they don't have back lighting. Top houses the 3.5mm headphone jack. On the right side are the volume rocker and power / lock button. At the bottom is the microUSB port.

The new MyPhone my32 sports a 5 inch HD IPS Display. Screen is bright and detailed enough including correct color reproduction. Well if you encounter any imbalances, i found there is color correction mode in accessibility setting to adjust with your preference or eye. ClearMotion Technology enhancement is present to enhance your viewing pleasures especially videos.

MyPhone my32 is powered by 1.4GHz Octa-Core Mediatek MT6592 Processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage that can be expanded via MicroSD. Antutu Benchmarks reach 29K. Navigating the device I haven't experience any lag and I am sure it will handle your social media apps as well as games.

Runs Android Lollipop out of the box with slightly altered UI. Notification looks like that of Android Marshmallow. There are a few added applications by MyPhone but if you don't want to use them then you can simply uninstall to free some space.

For it optics, it makes use of Samsung Sensor for its 13MP Rear Camera assisted with LED Flash. You also get a 5MP selfie front camera. Gave it a dry run, focus is fast and accurate though i felt it to be grainy especially in low light. This might be because of aperture size with rear camera at f/2.8 and front at f/2.4 which means front camera takes better in low light. There are no problem in taking photos in bright conditions. There is HDR modes for both front and back camera as well as voice capture feature. New camera modes such as live photos (though recorded in 3gp) and motion track mode (focusing on moving objects). For video recording it supports Full HD.

Day Shots. Little less saturation and contrast but still shots are good.

Even at lower ISO, I find it to be grainy.

Just Decent Shots for Selfie Camera

Only regular set of connectivity features like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and HSPA+ cellular data connection is available. This is a Dual Sim Dual Standby handset and both sim card supports 3G. USB OTG is NOT Supported.

Battery is only 2000mAh, it does last a day of moderate usage of course but if you are into gaming and data might I suggest a powerbank. Will do a stress test.

Bottom line, MyPhone my32 is a reliable smartphone High Definition 5 inch display, quality grade internals with ample memory and storage, dependable camera and Android Lollipop for budget price.

Meizu M2 comes in a polycarbonate shell that comes in natural and bright colors in grey, white, cyan and pink. On the front is a 5 inch HD 720p IPS Display that is strengthen with Asahi Dragontrail Glass.

Acer Liquid Z530 is now available!

Like Acer new smartphones today, the Acer Z530 comes in very premium metallic brushed finish in Black or White colors. It is very light and the curved rounded corners provides good grip. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye although kinda wished they opted for a different design for speakers. On the front is a 5 inch HD IPS Display that comes with Acer's Zero-Air Gap Technology and as you can see it is bright and has good color reproduction.

Looking inside, the smartphone is powered by latest 64bit Mediatek MT6735 Quad-Core Processor clocked at 1.3GHz and is supported with 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage. A microSD Slot is available for storage expansion. With 64bit processor, it is best paired with 64bit Android Lollipop for optimum efficiency between hardware and software.

Acer joins the Selfie trend as this the Liquid Z530 comes with a 8MP Rear and Front Camera combo which let you take high resolution photos and videos whichever side you're on as well as more detailed Selfies. With reference to sample shots below, the rear camera has a aperture of f/2 and f/2.4 for its front camera. Aperture is part of exposure triangle, the lower f number the more light enters so better shots in low light. It focuses well and did a fair job taking selfies.

Regular set of connectivity features like WiFi, Bluettooth, and GPS is available as well as LTE for cellular data. It is a dual sim dual standby handset which enable you to access two networks in one device. But only Sim 1 supports LTE.

As for UI, Acer added Quick Touch for gesture controls, when in standby mode for example, just write I or straight line then the Z530 comes alive. You can launch Camera, make a call and launch Music. Acer added other value-added applications for productivity, cloud service and mobile management. Float Applications helps you multitask by taking notes, making calculations and other functions while other apps run in the background.

Batttery is at 2420mAh that is quoted of standby time of 630 hours and 12 Hours Talk Time.

Overall, Acer's new smartphones is a beauty and also comes with great set of specifications with up-to-date internal hardware and software, high quality cameras and LTE, making Liquid Z530 a well rounded Smartphone at an affordable price. The new Kata T4 tablet has great solid built with metal back cover. Design wise we clearly see the iPad Mini from button placement and ports as well as nearly similar dimensions at Height of 200mm, Width 134.6mm, Depth 7.7mm and Weigh only 400g. Just a few difference in depth and weight. Still Kata is very easy to hold and feels so light. Comes in Premium Matte Finish Gold and Grey colors.

Moving on, It has very nice display at 7.85 inch at 1024 x 768 HD resolution IPS. It has nice registration of colors and is very bright. Touch is responsive and up to 5 multi-touch points. It's great multimedia device for playing movies as well as games.

Under the hood is a Mediatek MT8382 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor wiith Mali400 GPU coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage. If you need more storage you can expand it via MicroSD Card Slot but can't seem to move app storage to the SD Card. This hardware setup performs quite well running Android KitKat with no noticeable lag. I had not encountered any problem running apps or multitasking. Oh here are benchmark score and information of Internals.

As mentioned earlier it runs Android KitKat with a few tweak as it does not have a app drawer just like on the iPad Mini. I have notice there are two Phone and Contact apps, one the native android and  one well looks like on the iOS. Sliding from the Top right of your screen, you will find the notification panel while sliding from the top left you will find control panel for quick settings. Kata also added some TV apps like Netflix, CBS, FOX NOW, The CW, and many more which you can freely enjoy for 60 days by using their MEGAVPN app.

Microsoft unveiled budget Lumia 550 last October 2015 and now is available locally!

The new Lumia 550 gets an 4.7 inch HD LCD Display and is powered by a Snpadragon 210 Quad-Core Processor with Adreno 304 GPU supported with 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage. Storage is expadable of course via Micro SD.

With the new chipset, LTE has been added to budget range of Windows Phones supporting LTE FDD networks with Band 1 (2100 MHz), Band 3 (1800 MHz), Band 7 (2600 MHz), Band 8 (900MHz), Band 20 (800MHz). Other connectivity features such as WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS is also available.

You get Unit, Headset, Charger, Data Cable, Quick Start Guide, Screen Guard and PLeather Rear Cover.

It has a great aesthetics with clear cut glass on the front featuring a circular green home button together with capacitive keys accentuated with silver at top and bottom bezel that runs on the sides housing the volume rocker, power/lock and dedicated camera shutter. The back case is made with a sandstone-like matte coating that has a good feel, not slippery and does not attract smudges nor fingerprints. A green ring around the camera is another accent as Alcatel highlights the Mobile Photography capabilities of the device. It turns to Luxury, as it comes with a leather rear case with stitch lining and branding.

The Flash 2 runs smooth and fluid Android Lollipop Stock UI with less bloatwares. You also have gesture controls with Double Tape to wake and other smart gestures. Antutu benchmark reached nearing 37K score. I am pretty sure it will handle most of the apps you throw at it.

As for camera, here are samples:

So far the Phase Detection Auto Focus works fast and stays focus. Tried Focus test, Left Shot focuses on the Teddy while Right Shot focuses on the background.

No problem in taking photos in well lit or low light conditions. Level of saturation is on point and no signs of details washing out. Shots taken in low light is not grainy.

The Front Camera also take great selfies even in low light. Front LED Flash adds light support when need arises.

Another convenience Alcatel made it easy access to your sim cards and microSD card. You could insert and change at an instant without rebooting your device. You could also lock it to your desired signal such as "4G Only" suitable when playing online games or streaming so as you connection won't fluctuate going.

Overall, Alcatel did a great job covering nearly all aspect of the phone from design and ergonomics, internal hardware, optics and camera, and battery. Such a feature pack smartphone and also runs the latest a clean Android 5.1 Lollipop. Priced for 6,190 Pesos, the Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 is very affordable that surely make very strong impact in the smartphone market.

Update! Flash 2 is said to get Android Marshmallow in March 2016! and will be offered with two new colors Rose Gold and Mica White in Mid January 2016... Oh and its said that there will be a Ceramic Green. To clarify the back covers will be bundled with your purchase of Alcatel Flash 2. Other Accessories will also come like Flipcase and among others.
