Acer Liquid Z530 is now available!

Like Acer new smartphones today, the Acer Z530 comes in very premium metallic brushed finish in Black or White colors. It is very light and the curved rounded corners provides good grip. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye although kinda wished they opted for a different design for speakers. On the front is a 5 inch HD IPS Display that comes with Acer's Zero-Air Gap Technology and as you can see it is bright and has good color reproduction.

Looking inside, the smartphone is powered by latest 64bit Mediatek MT6735 Quad-Core Processor clocked at 1.3GHz and is supported with 2GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage. A microSD Slot is available for storage expansion. With 64bit processor, it is best paired with 64bit Android Lollipop for optimum efficiency between hardware and software.

Acer joins the Selfie trend as this the Liquid Z530 comes with a 8MP Rear and Front Camera combo which let you take high resolution photos and videos whichever side you're on as well as more detailed Selfies. With reference to sample shots below, the rear camera has a aperture of f/2 and f/2.4 for its front camera. Aperture is part of exposure triangle, the lower f number the more light enters so better shots in low light. It focuses well and did a fair job taking selfies.

Lenovo budget LTE Lollipop Smartphone - Lenovo A2010 lands.

Just decent specs here with its 4.5 inch FWVGA Display yet it does pack a newer processor with Mediatek MT6735M with Mali-T720 GPU supported by 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage. Yes, you can expand storage via MicroSD Card slot. This internal setup is enough to run Android 5.0 Lollipop smoothly and less hiccups from apps and games.

As for camera, it packs a 5MP rear camera supported with LED Flash and 2MP Front-Facing camera. It's entry level so I guess Lenovo had to cut corners here to get the lower price.

You do get LTE for data connectivity which is the main selling point of this device. Other connectivity like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS is also available.

Microsoft unveiled budget Lumia 550 last October 2015 and now is available locally!

The new Lumia 550 gets an 4.7 inch HD LCD Display and is powered by a Snpadragon 210 Quad-Core Processor with Adreno 304 GPU supported with 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage. Storage is expadable of course via Micro SD.

With the new chipset, LTE has been added to budget range of Windows Phones supporting LTE FDD networks with Band 1 (2100 MHz), Band 3 (1800 MHz), Band 7 (2600 MHz), Band 8 (900MHz), Band 20 (800MHz). Other connectivity features such as WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS is also available.

Camera-wised, it carries a 5MP rear camera with 1/4 sized sensor at f2.4 aperture supported with LED Flash (same as ones used in 535). For it front, you just get a 2MP at f2.8 aperture which is just pretty basic.

You do get Windows 10 as well as Microsoft services and apps that include Office and OneDrive Cloud Storage.

Battery is at 2100mAh with up to 17 hours talk time,  60 hours of music and 7 hours of video playback.

Priced at $139 and was said to come in December 2015 but it has now been spotted via Memoxpress for only 6,490 Pesos!

You get Unit, Headset, Charger, Data Cable, Quick Start Guide, Screen Guard and PLeather Rear Cover.

It has a great aesthetics with clear cut glass on the front featuring a circular green home button together with capacitive keys accentuated with silver at top and bottom bezel that runs on the sides housing the volume rocker, power/lock and dedicated camera shutter. The back case is made with a sandstone-like matte coating that has a good feel, not slippery and does not attract smudges nor fingerprints. A green ring around the camera is another accent as Alcatel highlights the Mobile Photography capabilities of the device. It turns to Luxury, as it comes with a leather rear case with stitch lining and branding.

The Flash 2 runs smooth and fluid Android Lollipop Stock UI with less bloatwares. You also have gesture controls with Double Tape to wake and other smart gestures. Antutu benchmark reached nearing 37K score. I am pretty sure it will handle most of the apps you throw at it.

As for camera, here are samples:

So far the Phase Detection Auto Focus works fast and stays focus. Tried Focus test, Left Shot focuses on the Teddy while Right Shot focuses on the background.

No problem in taking photos in well lit or low light conditions. Level of saturation is on point and no signs of details washing out. Shots taken in low light is not grainy.

The Front Camera also take great selfies even in low light. Front LED Flash adds light support when need arises.

Another convenience Alcatel made it easy access to your sim cards and microSD card. You could insert and change at an instant without rebooting your device. You could also lock it to your desired signal such as "4G Only" suitable when playing online games or streaming so as you connection won't fluctuate going.

Overall, Alcatel did a great job covering nearly all aspect of the phone from design and ergonomics, internal hardware, optics and camera, and battery. Such a feature pack smartphone and also runs the latest a clean Android 5.1 Lollipop. Priced for 6,190 Pesos, the Alcatel OneTouch Flash 2 is very affordable that surely make very strong impact in the smartphone market.

It will be powered by 64bit Octa-Core A53-Cortex Processor by Mediatek (based on MiraVision tech) and Mali-T720 GPU MP3 coupled with 2GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB Internal storage (12GB for end user). A MicroSD card slot is available to expand storage for up to 64GB. Runs Android 5.1 Lollipop which is great as it fully utilizes the 64bit architecture and so optimized performance.
