Look what we ave here, Lenovo K4 Note is now available ahead of its scheduled launch.
Lenovo K4 Note follows Lenovo Vibe X3 in terms of design with its front facing speakers, button and ports placements including Fingerprint sensor on the back although it is made of polycarbonate compared to the metal contruction of the Vibe X3 still exudes executive feel with great grip for its curved back panel.
Feature-wise, K4 Note also manifest entertainment quality with its 5.5 inch Full HD Display that is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. With great display, it needs to have great sound and so its Front ported 2X1.5W stereo speakers enhanced by Dolby Atmos and WM8281 audio codec will facilitate your audio needs.
Moving to its internal configuration, Lenovo K4 Note core is a Mediatek MT6753 Octa-Core processor with Mali T720 GPU supplimented with 3GB RAM and 16GB Internal Storage. It has a MicroSD slot although it is hard to find by the side of Sim 2.
Equipped with 13MP Rear camera with PDAF supported by Dual Tone LED Flash as well as 5MP FF Front camera for Lenovo K4 Note Optics.
Rear Camera Shot. In good light conditions, outputs are good but in low light it will be grainy. Per checking exif, camera has an aperture size of f/2.4 which is a downer since smartphone today even local ones carry at least f/2.0 aperture for better low light performance.
Looking at the selfie camera, it seems more dependable than the rear camera. With f/2.2 aperture it takes in double the light so better outputs in low light. Even in bright backgroud, my face is clear and not dark.
Complete set of connectivity with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC. Ultra fast LTE is available for on the go internet connection but you do have HSPA+ and 3G just in case LTE is not available in our area. It is Dual Sim Dual standby handset.
Runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and Lenovo promise to upgrade it to Marshmallow. Lenovo apps and other value added apps are installed.
Lenovo K4 Note carries a 3300mAh Battery which should be large enough to last you the day of moderate usage. Quoted Standby time: 265hrs Talktime: 22hrs

Alcatel Pixi 4 6 Appears! Price Specs Philippines
Alcatel cuts prices on some of their smartphones! Now Alcatel Pixi 4 6 id only 4,999 Pesos!
Alcatel is on a roll releasing Go and Pixi series phones, now another emerge - Pixi 4 6.
Pixi 4 6 inch is Alcatel's new phablet offering that features a 6 qHD inch IPS Display for bigger screen great for entertainment and games. Reminiscent of Flash Plus but on just a bigger scale. Even with polycarbonate construction it is well built and no creaking sounds when handling the device.
MicroSIM Slots is located on the left side of the phone while microSD compartment together with volume rocker and power/lock button is on the right. The MicroUSB and 3.5mm jack is situated on top which is convenient when using your phone in portrait mode if charging and listening to music.
Inside,is a Mediatek MT8321 Quad-Core Processor (usually for tablets) coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal Storage. A microSD Card slot is available for additional storage. Surprisingly enough Pixi 4 6 inch scored Antutu at 23K mark. This may be due to its low qHD resolution paired with tablet class processor. This can be seen in gaming performance as we were able to play Asphalt 8 Airborne at High Settings with less or no lag. Then again if you will be playing try closing running apps and focus on your game. It will handle casual games better but with tweak in display setting will be able some HD Games in medium-low settings.
For its camera features, Alcatel Pixi 4 6 is equipped with 13MP Rear Camera and 8MP Front Camera. Both will have LED Flash for light support.
Camera was a surprise as it took quality photos especially daylight shots. Low-lit moments like sunsets come out better with rich colors and adequate contrast. HDR works well lightening up shadows while keeping details intact. The f/2.0 aperture of the rear camera make this possible. Although when it comes to Night shots or near darkness, you really need that flash to brighten up thing or you might not see much.
Selfies is just like the rear camera, good in well-lit conditions. It does have front selfie flash for low light and when against the light to light up your face.
Camera comes in Auto, HDR, Manual, Pano, Scanner, Face Beauty, and Polaroid Mode. Manual Mode offers controls for ISO and White Balance however we thought it would control Shutter Speed, sadly S was for exposure compensation. Polaroid Mode gives you layouts your capture into polaroid-style.
You do get regular set of connectivity features like WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. It makes use of Micro Sim cards. It is a Dual Sim Handset both offering 3G Data Connectivity. It is USB OTG enabled so you could use your usb peripherals like flash drives.
Sorry about that... Seems Philippines will just have the 3G model and not the LTE Model.
Carries a 2580mAh battery which should last you the day with moderate use of course. But if your always on or heavy lifting then I might suggest a powerbank.
Overall, Pixi 4 6 inch is not bad at all. It is a well-constructed phablet that performs with better camera quality. Cons for this smartphone is the software reset bug and low memory (ram) but can be address through firmware updates and ram management by the user. Best suited for New, Social Media, Basic Android User.
Have review unit on hand... What else do you like to know about the phone?

PR: ePLDT taps Amazon Web Services, expanding its cloud expertise
ePLDT, the digital enterprise enabler of the country's leading telecoms and digital services provider, PLDT, continues to expand its cloud expertise and strengthen its portfolio of cloud solutions with its recent elevation to Standard Consulting Partner in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN).
As an AWS Standard Consulting Partner, ePLDT enables enterprises to design, build, migrate, and manage their workloads and applications on Amazon Web Services.
"This fits our overall strategy to offer a full-spectrum of enterprise cloud solutions via our own managed infrastructure and expertise as well as through partnerships with the best in the business," shared Nerisse Ramos, ePLDT Group COO. "We recognize that when it comes to cloud adoption and implementation, one size does not fit all requirements since different workloads require different deployment models and infrastructure tuning. The mission is to empower enterprises with the countless benefits that cloud offers - lower cost of ownership, operational agility, auto software updates, increased collaboration, easy and affordable business continuity and disaster recovery implementation- to name some. Of course, this is wrapped around by the combined expertise of ePLDT and AWS."
Amazon Web Services, global leader in cloud infrastructure provider, is the cloud computing platform of Amazon with operations on 11 regions around the globe, it offers wide range of web-based services including Compute, Storage, Network, Mobile, and Database.
The Amazon Partner Network (APN), the partner program of Amazon Web Services, is focused on providing members of the AWS partner ecosystem with program, technical, business, and go-to-market support. Consulting Partners, which include System Integrators, Strategic Consultancies, Agencies, Managed Service Providers, and Value Added Resellers, gain access to resources and trainings to support customers in deploying, running, and managing applications in the AWS Cloud.
Apart from being an AWS Standard Consulting Partner, ePLDT is also a member of the Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA). An industry trade association, ACCA aims to accelerate growth of the cloud market in Asia and provides a platform for members to discuss implementation and growth strategies, and establish policies and best practices related to the cloud computing ecosystem.
"We are proud of joining the AWS Partner Network as a Standard Consulting Partner, as it reflects our commitment to help our customers leverage on cloud technology to drive growth and performance in their businesses," noted PLDT Enterprise, International & Carrier Business EVP and ePLDT President Eric Alberto. "This, along with our membership in the Asia Cloud Computing Association, is just a few of the many initiatives we have undertaken to expand our solutions portfolio and strengthen our expertise to ensure we sustain our status as the digital solutions partner-of-choice for the Enterprise market."

Flash “Life with Metal” Photography Campaign hints New Smartphone
Flash “Life with Metal” Photography Campaign hints New Smartphone
Last month, Flash launched a “Life with Metal” photography campaign covering six countries: India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. It gained more than 2,000 pieces of photographs in only ten days and exceeded 160,000 clicks to their website. The photographers took photos of a variety of metal objects from rings, automobiles to an iron tower, revealing the art of life in the form of photography.
Notably, this event is not merely a photography campaign as it has sent hints that Flash is soon to launch a new product. For the competition, it is said that Flash is going to select 10 excellent photographs from each country that will be exhibited with signature of photographers during the new product launch event. The prize-winning photographers of every country will each get a new smart phone as a gift. What’s a product launch without a new phone to be announce right? It’s highly likely that a new product of Flash will make its debut very soon.
The Flash series had created phenomenal e-commerce success with sales craze in Southeast Asia, with enormous market potential and consumer needs: Flash Plus once set the record of selling out 100 units in one minute while Flash 2 became the sales champion of Southeast Asia’s largest e-commerce platform, Lazada for the same price range within one month of being placed in market.
Given such favorable market situation, Flash “strike while iron it is hot” to launch a new product.
With the theme of the photography competition - “Life with Metal”, it should suggest the new smartphone’s qualities –metal built with great camera optics? mobigraph has become a vital gene of the Flash series. Therefore, it can be reasonably said that the new product is highly probably to continue the photography DNA, with powerful photo-taking functions. While none of the three models of Flash has to do with metal, it is possible Flash wants to change that to provide a more premium built smartphone.
At the moment, Flash has not officially released any exact information about the new product. However, the series of products have got a couple of labels by word of mouth - “exceptional camera, fashionable appearance, and strong performance”, and they are becoming more and more popular in market. So, this new phone is something to watch out for.
Let’s see if I can get lucky to gather info on this new Flash…. Stay Tuned.

Lenovo Vibe X3 is another premium smartphone with its solid aluminum construction that is beautiful chromed matched with matte curved back. Upfront lies its display 5.5 inch Full HD IPS Display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
At the heart of Lenovo Vibe X3 lies a Snapdragon 808 Hexa-Core 64bit Processor with Adreno 418 GPU coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB Internal Storage. It's internal is similar to that of LG G4 which should be able to give you high grade performance.

A 21MP Rear Camera with Phase Detection Auto-Focus, 27mm, f/2.0 Aperture, and 6-element Lens serves it primary snapper. It is said to harbor a Sony IMX230 sensor which should give you better outputs.
