Today June 23, 2016, Samsung Philippines launch "Designed For The Philippines" Galaxy J5 2016 and Galaxy J7 2016! Not long ago, we spotted its availability via Samsung concept Stores but Now they come with Filipino Inspired Themes and Packaging complimenting their new classy metal frame.

During the launch, Samsung highlighted two unique features of Galaxy J5 2016 an J7 2016 such as Ultra Data Saving Mode and Signal Max. Ultra Data Saving compresses your data usage and so same speed yet less data usage thereby less cost. With Signal Max, you won't have a problem weak reception as the new J series 2016 features Dual Antenna.

The ever popular J Series gets better and is now fitted for Filipino Consumers. Guess Galaxy J5 2016 and J7 2016 will still continue to be best seller in the market.

The new Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 and J7 2016 now comes in a metallic frame which makes it more sturdy than that of the previous model. It still retains plastic back cover but is covered in brushed finishing. Chamfers around the bezel and on the side adds aesthetic appeal as well as provide grip.

On top, are sAMOLED displays with High Definition (HD) resolutions at 5.2 inch for Galaxy J5 2016 while 5.5 inch for Galaxy J7 2016. Internally both are different as J5 2016 is powered by Snapdragon 410 A53 Cortex Processor and J7 2016 has an Exynos 7870 Chipset. The Duo kept 13MP Rear Camera with LED Flash and 5MP Front with Selfie Flash. Still at f/1.9 aperture which gives you more light and so great output in low light condition. With this aperture size, you do get those shallow depth of field where subject is in total focus while other space is blurred out.

Finally, the local release gets LTE as the two will be Dual Sim Dual Standby and both sim supports LTE. Last year local model was release without LTE not like those gotten from those models thru telecom plans. Anyways, Still you have the regular sets of connectivity features such as WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS as well as NFC for Samsung Pay.

As for battery, both jumps higher capacity battery with J5 2016 at 3100mAh and J7 2016 at 3300mAh.

Runs on Android Marshmallow with a Filipino Inspired Theme on Top. It includes Microsoft Office Suite which is quite useful and less bloatwares. Special Features include Bike Mode, Ultra Data Savings Mode and Signal Max. Well it is more advance in the software department compared to Android Lollipop on the Galaxy A Series.

We reported that Alcatel was giving hints on its new device as they conducted and concluded "Life with Metal" Photography contest where in they may release a smartphone with a metallic built. Well this is to say much on the outside appearance and not so much on internal so we done some digging.

We found that there were reports, Alcatel Flash Plus 2 shows up via gfxbench. Per GFXBench, it details that Flash Plus 2 is said to carry a 4.6 inch Full HD Display powered by Mediatek Helio P10 MT6755BM coupled by 2GB RAM and 16GB (10GB usable?) internal storage. Camera features 13MP rear and 8MP Front. No details of connectivity but since its Helio we assume it will have regular set with LTE cellular data. Runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

GFXBench - Alcatel Flash Plus 2

Look what we have here a render of new product, Flash Plus 2... Looking up close it really does sport metal and glass and I can also see antenna lines running on top and bottom. Right side Power / Lock buttons and Volume Rocker. A Physical home button is also there so will the new Flash Plus 2 have fingerprint sensor?

Per Source 2 article, it is said that the new Flash Plus will carry the same 5.5 inch Display but will come in aluminum frame and will carry a fingerprint sensor.

Per Yugatech Exclusive Article, it is said to have 5.5 inch Full HD, 13MP Rear and 5MP Front Camera Combo, 3000mAh Non-Removable battery. There will be two variants 2GB RAM / 16GB Storage or 3GB / 32GB Storage.  Here is another render of Flash Plus 2.

Price Predications... it should follow its pricing but i anticipate that 3GB/32GB model will cost 8,490 and 2GB/16GB Model will be 6,990.

LG G5 Modular Phone gets Priced and Pre-Order starts on April 19!

The new G5 comes in 5.3 inch Quad HD IPS Quantum Display featuring a 3D Arc Glass that curves down to its metal aluminum body. LG brings the Always ON Display from V10 second display, now with G5, it is on the Main Screen that lets you glance view the time date and notifications. At the back, there's a hump that houses its Dual-Camera setup as well as FingerPrint Sensor. Sim Compartment is located at the right side while on the left is the volume rocker and module release. LG G5 comes in Silver, Gold, and Titan.

Left Side is the wide camera at 8MP. Per exif it shows that it has a smaller aperture at f/2.4. On the Right is the 16MP regular camera that has aperture size of f/1.8 although not wide but delivers great swallow depth of field. This can be seen by samples taken below.

With the Front camera, it register at aperture of f/2.0 which is acceptable and as you can see, it captured with great clarity my selfie.

Elephone P9000 Quick Impression and Review Philippines Price Specs

We are done with Elephone P8000 and Elephone S1, now we are going to do a quick impression on Elephone P9000.

Elephone P9000 comes in straight metallic frame and glass front panel accented with antenna lines. There are two colors available for its arc back - Black Sandstone and Glossy White.  The Black Sandstone has great feel to it and does not attract fingerprints compared to glossy white. There is one square capacittive key located upfront which pretty much functions as regular navigation keys - one tap for back double tap for home and long press for app menu. As for ports and buttons, the 3.5mm is located on top; speaker grills and USB Type-C at the bottom; right side power / lock button and volume rocker; left side is the hybrid microSD / Sim card Slot as well as Special Custom button. It sports a 5.5 inch Full LTPS Display which made by LG for immersive viewing pleasure matched with strong audio via its speakers, making the P9000 a great entertainment device. Elephone really does make good-looking, solid and handy smartphones which is imbued by P9000.

Runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with few added features by Elephone such as motion, gesture controls and among others. Guess that's why runs effortlessly as there are only few apps running on the background. Fingerprint sensor gives you great security as it is your personal touch to unlock your device.

Moving on to Elephone P9000 optics, makes use of Sony IMX 258 sensor for its 13MP rear camera and OmniVision 8858 8MP front camera. Per samples exif it revealed that rear camera has an aperture size of f/2.0 and front at f/2.4 aperture. This is relevant why? because the lower the aperture number the bigger is the camera opening therefore morelight can enter so good for low light photography.

Above we have done a Focus Test, Left Picture focused on the Glass while Right focuses on the background. Laser AF did its job in quickly focus on the subjects. Output is clear even as you zoom in you can see little bits of detail although we wished it as more variance as colors looks bland compared to camera sample taken with P8000.

Per Selfie Test, it has more improved output compared to S1 and P8000. It did'nt come out washout but just grainy but still decent output in low light condition this is due to its f/2.4 aperture. Guess in good lighting condition, we will see improvements in its outputs.

Complete set of connectivity features which includes WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC. Ultrafast LTE is present for more dependable internet connection. This is a Dual Sim handset via its hybrid slot however like I said before you need to sacrifice if you want Dual Sim Versus Additional Storage with the use of P9000 hybrid slot. Makes use of USB Type-C Port for charging and data which is good as it is future-proof but you do have problems getting accesories as they are limited as of the moment.

Elephone P9000 carries a 3000mAh battery but with its strong internal hardware and connectivvity feature it should last you half a day of moderate use. However you can charge it fast as Elephone supports quick charge via its its USB Type-C port as well as supports wireless charging for no frills and cables seamless charging. Wireless charger will be free for P9000 and will serve as its main charger.
