Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 Thin and Metal Specs, Price, Philippines

Not just for flagships but Samsung is also implementing metallic body for their midrange phones starting with their new Galaxy A5  and Galaxy A3. This great move considering that their phones has been criticize for being too plasticky and with a slump of their sales, things need to change for the better.

Thin is certainly IN in the tech world and so Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3 follows with 6.7mm and 6,9mm waistline respectively.

Galaxy A5

The A5 sports a 5 inch HD while A3 has a 4.5 qHD AMOLED Display. Both devices are powered by 1.2GHz Quad-Core Processor (some points to Snapdragon 410  but still needs to be confirmed.) coupled with 16GB Internal storage. In terms of memory, the A5 has 2GB and 1GB for A3. A microSD slot is available for storage expansion. Runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

For connectivity, the two are blessed with ultra-fast LTE plus the regular WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. Other than those, is yet to be announced.

Camera features are also focused to be competitive with the Galaxy A5 at 13MP and Galaxy A3 at 8MP supported with Flash. Seems Samsung is also keen on riding on the Selfie trend and so packing 5MP on these two comes with wide-angle selfies, landscape/panorama mode including Beauty Mode. GIF Animation has also been added to the mix to capture frame by frame action.

Galaxy A3

Interesting hues from black, white, gold, silver, pink and light blue to match your mood or style though not sure if all colors will be available.

Battery is at 2300mAh and 1900mAh for Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3.

Overall, a change in design and construction is great move for the Galaxy line coming from an all plastic that have haunted reviews one after another on their phones. As I come to hold the Galaxy Alpha, the change lift their devices on premium level. With the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3, Samsung is ready to compete and bring high grade experience to more consumers.

Surprisingly, cmkcellphones.com priced the Galaxy A5 at 18,990 and Galaxy A3 at 15,990. I find it fair for the A3 though not the A5 but its Samsung so you be assured of accessories and service where ever you are.
