Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro / Win i8552 is being used by so many people all around the world. And this device have very less ROMs. Also Samsung have refused to give any further updates to this phone. 

But here's a good news for Samsung Galaxy users. MIUI 5 for Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro has been ported successfully by a Chinese guy. This ROM runs smoothly and looks cool. But this ROM still got some bugs. It has problems with internal storage, SD card, camera and WiFi. But it has many features and themes that are worth a try.

To install this ROM, follow the steps :-

NOTE - Your device must be rooted and have CWM / TWRP installed. Also, we are not responsible for any damage caused to you device while flashing this ROM.

Step 1 - Download Rom from the link below.

Step 2 - Connect your phone to pc via USB cable and and transfer the downloaded ROM to your phone's internal storage or SD card.

Step 3 - Detach your phone from the pc and turn off your phone.

Step 4 - Go to recovery mode by pressing Volume Up + Power button + Home button together until something comes up on screen.

Step 5 - I prefer you take backup of all your data before flashing the rom. To take backup, click on backup button.

Step 6 - Now go to install -> install zip from internal storage/SD card, and then select the zip file you downloaded before.

Step 7 - Wait till installation finishes. You are done. You have successfully flashed MIUI 5 to your device.

Redmi 1S - Red Alert Another Threat is Coming

Mi Philippines has finally announce the arrival of Red 1S on September 4, 2014 via Lazada Philippines.

The Redmi 1S is dual sim/ dual standby unit at 4.7 IPS 720p HD IPS Display, this should provide a clear, vivid and detailed viewing pleasure with a 312ppi.

Powering the device is 1.6GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 Processor with Adreno 305 GPU. Chipset by Qualcomm delivers performance plus endurance without straining on battery life. The 1GB RAM and 8GB EMMC storage gives it ample memory and storage.

You wont be disappointed with its optical features with 8MP Back camera ƒ/2.2 aperture as well as 1.6MP front camera. Capture moments with Zero shutter lag and variety of modes including facee recognition and wide angle shots for selfies or group selfies.

Connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS plus HSPA+ data connectivity. USB-OTG is supported for hosting usb devices.

Battery is 2000mAh removable. Other added features includes Mi Sound Hi-Fi System with Dirac sound technologies and Dual microphone noise reduction.

For 5,599.00, Mi Philippines offers the complete package for the budget consumer. If I may enumerate: quality HD display, performance grade chipset with bigger storage, better camera and extensive connectivity features at a meager price tag. Xiaomi is setting trends for which competition try to match or catch up.

***With comparison to what I wrote when I spotted Hongmi 1S, it seems they are one in the same product however if this the case it may have a display made by Sharp / AUO (Apple supplier) or Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and Samsung / OV Back-Illuminated Sensor for its camera. Xiaomi unleashes its Mi4

The Mi4 is beautifully crafted with combination precision made steel frame and strong polycarbonate plastic for its back. Materials used is definitely for a flagship phone and comes with room for customization.

Its Display sports 5 inch 1080p resolution made by either Sharp / Japan Display Inc. (JDI) and employs OGS lamination technology. No word on whether it has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 but I am pretty sure it does pack a shatter proof on top. If you should know, OnePlus One smartphone also has JDI Display though TOL (Touch On Lens) is used which is almost same as OGS but is more resilient and tough.

Under the hood, it packs Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB RAM and 16/64GB eMMC 5.0 Internal Storage. The hardware setup is to say made to perform to optimal levels with only Full HD to work with, it may beat benchmarks scores of some QHD handsets. (See Benchmarks)
