Alcatel Pop 3 5.5 DTV inch Now Available Specs Price Philippines

Here is another new one by Alcatel - Pop 3 5.5 inch.

From water and dust resistance, now Alcatel ventures in DTV. Yes, Alcatel Pop 3 5.5 inch is a DTV Smartphone that lets you watch TV on its 5.5 inch HD IPS Scratch-Resistant Display. Comes in a beautifully pleather-like back case with stitches on the sides while clean on the front but accented with led-backlit circular capacitive keys. On the right side lies the power key and volume rocker. At the top lies 3.5mm jack.

Under the hood, it is powered by 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor Mediatek MT6580 coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB Internal Storage. A MicroSD slot is available if you need more storage for up to 128GB. It ganered a 23K Antutu Score which is decent enough for an entry level device. We did have manageable gameplay of Asphalt 8 and yeah it can play Pokemon Go (A.R. Mode not supported).

No Gyro Sensor here so it will not support VR.

Supports only HSPA+/3G/2G for data connection but you do have the regular WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. This is a Dual Sim handset. USB OTG is not Supported.

Alcatel Pop 3 5.5 inch carries a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and 5MP Front camera which should produce quality outputs for pictures and videos as well as cater to your video-calls and selfies. Camera UI is just basic with only auto, hdr, beauty, panorama, and scanner. Here are samples we got from our review unit.

Focus is just decent and gets the foreground and background. IT did failed to focus on closer subjects like that flower for example.

Auto mode (Left) is way better than its HDR (Center) feature. We could see the Buildings clearly but too much highlight washout the cloud details. Night shots is grainy for my taste but still you could still see details of buildings when you zoom in. Oh its flash is so powerful it can light up a dark room!

As for the front camera, it does take high detailed outputs in good lightning condition but poor in low light. So if you are gonna take those selfie shot then be sure you have enough light source.

This is the first DTV Smartphone from Alcatel. So we tried it out. Upon opening the MobileTV App, we were greeted with a prompt to connect headset to serves as antenna. Well this should be good compared to carrying around a separate antenna. However when we scan for channels we just got a few. MobileTV app UI is just simple can show in portrait and landscape mode. Lets you grab a scene but it does not feature recording.

Packs a 2500mAh Battery which should last the day of moderate usage of course.

Priced for 6,299 Pesos! Guess TV cost a lot but like Go Play, I wished Alcatel put more RAM on this. A Promo is going on for March and with every purchase of Alcatel Pop 3 5.5 inch you get a 8GB MicroSD and an OK Stand.

Overall, it just decent entry level smartphone from Alcatel. It's HD Display is good for watching MobileTV but wish they improved on reception. Camera is great in daylight as well as with flash. This one is for those who are always on the go while catching up with their favorite TV Shows with DTV. Now Only 6,299 5,799 4,399 Pesos!
